Waivers

2011-2012 Carolina Sailing Foundation Youth Release Form You need this form to practice at Lake Crabtree and to participate in regattas.

SAISA Waiver: You need this form for every racing event you participate in on the SAISA circuit. You may need to fill out the one that is provided at the event, rather than this one.

Weekly Practices

Tuesday and Thursday Practices 4:15 to 6:45 PM
Wednesday Practices 4:15 to 6:00 PM
Practices will continue as such until length of daylight becomes a factor.

Tuesday: Joe will coach and the focus will be a general mix of boat-handling and some basic racing drills. There will most likely be an on-land portion as well that will consist of some very light "fitness" (so please come prepared) or rules discussions. Joe will make sure that everyone gets time in a boat though this may be limited by the number of sailors present.

Wednesday: Amanda will coach and the focus will be on boat-handling and giving people who are not as comfortable racing more time in the boat. Practice will be adjusted depending on who is in attendance; some racing will be taught once we have reached a point of comfort for all who are there.

Thursday: Joe and Amanda will coach and the focus will be on more intensive racing skills and tactics. If a regatta is occurring the following weekend, individuals registered for the regatta will have priority over the boats and will generally race the whole practice. We will cycle non-registered sailors through the other boats with the intention that everyone who is there gets to sail but sailing time in the boats may less on these practices if there is a regatta the following weekend.

Saturday 10th Charleston Regatta Friday night departure. Packing List: Be prepared for a variety of weather conditions. Many of our sailors find it useful to have one travel bag packed with all their sailing gear, a change of dry clothes, a toothbrush and etc. See the Packing Checklist at the bottom of this page.
